Another startup enters freight-matching market

A technology startup is adding its name to the recent influx of on-demand freight matching services, saying its business specifically targets owner-operators.

Doft, which stands for 'do freight transportation,' launched this month and claims to connect trucks and shippers within minutes. Most of the drivers currently using Doft's service are in California, the company says, but it is available across the U.S.

The platform says it removes brokers and dispatchers from the equation and takes a 4.99 percent service fee from each side on loads, the company says.

As recently reported on Overdrive, carriers' desire for predictability in their schedule has tempered the growth of the growing list of participants in the freight-matching market.
