What does my AI dispatcher ask a broker?
The same things you would in the first two minutes: is the load still available, what are the pickup and delivery appointments, what is the commodity and weight, what equipment does it need, and what does it pay. The answers come back written onto the load.
Can it negotiate rates?
Yes. It can discuss an offer and counter it inside the rules you set. When the broker's number needs a human call, the outcome comes back marked “Needs your decision” rather than guessed at.
Can it book a load?
It can book agreed loads where your account permissions and the load's business rules allow it. Where they don't, it brings you the agreed terms and the booking is one tap.
Can I call several brokers at once?
Yes. You can hand over as many as you like, and up to five of those calls run at the same time on a standard account, ten on premium — the rest follow as each one finishes. Select a shortlist and your AI dispatcher works through it: each broker called, the load checked, the rate negotiated, and the outcome written onto the load. How long the whole shortlist takes depends on how many brokers pick up and how long they talk, so we don't put a clock on it.
Can it handle check calls after booking?
Yes. Status, delivery, detention and rate-con resends can be made and taken for you, and each one is written back onto the load.
What happens if it needs my decision?
The call comes back marked “Needs your decision”, with what the broker said, what was agreed and what is still missing — so you restart from where it stopped instead of from the beginning.
Does it replace my dispatcher?
No, and it is not sold as that. It takes the part of the job that is dialing, holding, chasing callbacks and answering the same twenty questions. Judgment, relationships and the calls that need a person stay with you — every offer comes back for your decision unless you have allowed it to book.

What happens when a broker calls back?
Your dedicated number rings your AI dispatcher, not a shared switchboard. It recognises which load and which rate the broker is calling about and continues the same negotiation — even hours later.
Can brokers text that number?
Yes. Texts land inside the same negotiation, so the call and the messages sit together under the load rather than in two places.
Does it know my MC, equipment and payload?
Yes, once Dispatcher setup is filled in inside the Doft app. Brokers ask those questions in the first thirty seconds, and the answers come from your setup rather than from a guess.
Where do I see transcripts and offers?
Under the load itself, and in Recent AI Calls in Settings → AI Calls. Every call keeps its outcome, the offer, the transcript and any follow-up.

What does the $1.29 include?
$1.29 covers one answered conversation with a broker, including up to 5 min of talk time.
What happens after the first 5 min?
$0.20/min after the included 5 min — and the charge for a single answered outbound conversation never goes past $2.29, however long the broker keeps talking.
Is there a maximum charge?
Yes. $2.29 is the ceiling for one answered outbound conversation.
What happens if nobody answers?
Nothing is charged. No answer, busy and voicemail are free — you only pay when we reach a broker.
Do I pay for voicemail?
No. Your AI dispatcher can leave a message with your callback number and the call is still free.
What does a broker callback cost?
Nothing. When a broker rings your dedicated number back and your AI dispatcher takes the call, that inbound call is not charged. You pay for the calls your AI dispatcher places — so if it rings a broker back instead of answering, that is an ordinary AI Call at the usual rate.
How does this compare with a dispatch service?
Independent dispatch services are typically priced as a percentage of your gross or as a weekly flat fee, so the bill follows the loads you book whether or not the phone work was the hard part. Your AI dispatcher is not priced that way: you pay per answered conversation and nothing at all when a broker doesn't pick up. It also does a narrower job — the calling, not the whole desk — so treat it as the cost of the phone work rather than a like-for-like replacement for a dispatcher.
